Licensing and Certification

The SOMSP promotes the dissemination of MSP knowledge and skills, but it does not authorise, license, or guarantee any training or therapeutic practice. In essence, the SOMSP encourages the teaching of MSP in all its forms, supports trainers in delivering their work to the best possible standard, and advocates the ethical and effective application of MSP in practice. However, it assumes no responsibility for—nor exercises control over—the content, quality, or outcomes of any MSP training or therapeutic services, and does not certify or license practitioners.

Since 2002 Lucas Derks introduced the so called “Social Panorama Consultant training”, a five-day program. Those participants who have finished and sent in the special assignment qualify for the certificate “Social Panorama Consultant” and they are listed on www.socialpanorama.com.

In our view, all MSP or Social Panorama institutes, teachers, and trainers operate under their own full personal responsibility. The SOMSP trusts them to act as skilfully and ethically as they can. Certificates bearing the name, logo, or ambassador logo of the SOMSP simply indicate the “bloodline” of the concepts taught; they do not imply oversight, endorsement, or responsibility for the training provided.

Experience shows that those who work with MSP do so with genuine engagement and the best of intentions. Up to now, no circumstances have arisen that would justify establishing a controlling or regulatory system. Moreover, the SOMSP does not have—nor seeks—the financial or human resources required to operate such a system.
